Mula Bandha
Organizes the pelvic diaphragm at the base. Stimulates prana to rise and coalesce in the low abdomen.
Udiyana Bandha
Follows the upward doming thoracic diaphragm (on exhalation). Provides a still resting place for the heart.
Jalandhara Bandha
Involves the vocal diaphragm and soft palate. Caps and contains the top of the central channel.

Patty Townsend is the respected founder of Embodyoga®, an inclusive and fully embodied approach to yoga. Her method is developed from over 50 years of dedicated practice and deep study with her teacher, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen.
